In Loving
Memory Of
Hildegard and Wolfgang Moller
On
June 14th Hildegard Maria Moller
died peacefully in her sleep after
a very brief illness. On July 20th
her husband of more than 50 years,
Wolfgang Ernst Moller, followed
her. Hildy and Wolf had been residents
of Kerrville, Texas for many years.
Born in Bietzen, Germany,
Hildy immigrated with her family
to Canada after WWII. She later
moved to San Francisco, California,
where in 1958, she fell in love,
married Wolf, became a U.S. citizen,
and embarked on a life of adventure
with her husband. In her youth,
she was a striking, red-haired beauty
with a matching fiery spirit. She
loved literature, beauty, music,
and all of the arts and passed this
appreciation on to her children.
She and Wolf and their three daughters
lived all over the world, where
they embraced new cultures and collected
art. Hildy developed a keen eye
for business and after raising her
girls she partnered with Wolf in
several successful ventures.
Wolf was born in Rugenwalde,
Germany and went to work in Switzerland
and Chile as a young man. He too,
immigrated to San Francisco where
he fell in love with and married
Hildy. Wolf had a long career in
the dairy business that took him
all over the world. He was an adventurer
and optimist with a lively sense
of humor, it seemed like he took
many things easier than other people
do, because he trusted in himself
and his luck. He retired 19 years
ago and with Hildy's encouragement
decided to fulfill his lifelong
dream of creating art and working
with his hands. He became a self-taught
artist, making western-themed wood
wall sculptures assembled from exotic
woods. Each piece's design began
and ended with the organic, untouched
beauty of the natural wood grain
and color. His works have been featured
in several national magazines: Log
Home and Wood, and in Texas, in
the Kerrville Daily Times and on
TV on San Antonio's KLRN.
Mourning the loss
of their parents are Hildy and Wolf's
three daughters in Austin: Christina,
Sandra and Jessica and their families.
Hildy and Wolf are also dearly missed
by Hildy's three sisters and brother
in Canada: Brigitte, Klotilde, Augusta
and Peter and their families, as
well as Wolf's two brothers in Germany:
Dieter and Achim and their families.
The Moller daughters wish to express
their heartfelt gratitude to Col.
Ed and Mrs. Jane Kennedy in Kerrville,
who were special friends and neighbors
to Wolf and Hildy and who helped
them in so many ways as their health
declined.
